| NEW YORK PITCH CONFERENCE AND ALGONKIAN WRITER CONFERENCES, WORKSHOPS, RETREATS | Our ultimate goal is to realistically increase your odds of becoming a published author by showing you how to inhabit that upper percentile of writers who will have their work taken seriously by professionals in the business. What Makes us Unique? Algonkian Writer Conferences host the most successful and pragmatic events for writers and authors who desire to break into major commercial markets. Our goal is to realistically increase your odds of becoming a published commercial author by showing you how to inhabit that upper percentile of writers who will have their work taken seriously by professionals in the business. We don't believe good writers are born. We believe they are made by virtue of their tenacity and ability to learn and grow. At Algonkian events, critical advice you receive regarding market positioning, story premise and plot, character arc and evolution, competitive narrative voice, and all else, is provided exclusively by the most experienced professionals in the business. Unlike other writer workshops and MFA programs we refrain from subjecting writers to peer critique by amateurs because experience has taught us that such methods are likely to be compromised by unproductive advice. Algonkian writers receive comprehensive pre-event assignments as well as access to an online story building forum, and at the conclusion of the process we include personalized publication plans for all our writers. See our "Frequently Asked Questions" page on our Algonkian Writer Conferences website for more information on what makes us unique. | Algonkian Writer Conferences - Reviews and Interviews Reviews and interviews, mails, and forum talk. Agents, authors, and Algonkian alums talk about their experience with Algonkian events. ____________________________________________________
