Antioch Writers' Workshop welcomes serious writers, new or seasoned, and offers a Full Week experience as well as A La Carte options, perfect for new writers or those with a limited schedule. Presented in partnership with Antioch University Midwest in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Keynoter for 2013 is Lee Martin, Pulitzer-prize nominated novelist (author of Break The Skin and other titles.)
Full Week Experience Morning Classes: Four sessions--fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction and the business of writing--led by noted authors and publishing professionals (including agents).
Afternoon Seminars: Small groups learn craft and workshop manuscripts. Choose from fiction, poetry, memoir/personal essay. Or choose the Getting Started in Fiction or Creative Nonfiction, which does not require a manuscript and is geared toward new writers or those wishing to try new forms.
Agent Pitch Sessions: Available only to Full Week participants, at no extra charge. 2013 visiting agents are Suzie Townsend (New Leaf Literary) and Hannah Brown Gordon (Folio Literary + Media).
One-on-One Manuscript Consultations: Available only to Full Week participants, at modest additional charge paid to published faculty member for review and constructive critique session.
A La Carte Options Morning Classes Only: As described above.
Getting Started in Fiction or Creative Nonfiction: As described above.
Saturday Seminar: On July 6, a one day seminar in getting motivated to write, crafting queries, fiction, poetry and non-fiction. (NOTE: Saturday Seminar may be combined with Morning Classes Only, Getting Started Afternoon Only, or Full Week for a generously discounted rate.)
One-week program of AM classes, PM intensives, daily & evening panels, readings, talks, evening workshops. Options include Saturday Seminar, Morning Only Classes, Afternoon Only Getting Started in Fiction or Creative Nonfiction Seminar.
