<description>&lt;IMG SRC="http://writing.shawguides.com/images/Sponsors/Thumb/bear.gif" BORDER="0" height="75" ALT="Writers Conferences   Workshops in Walloon Lake, Michigan"&gt;
 center b May 31- June 4, 2012 b center The Bear River Writers Conference is defined by its eclectic collection of writers of all levels of experience. The atmosphere is alternately relaxed and avid. The conference is deeply embedded in the natural world and the striking landscape of northern Michigan is not simply backdrop for the session, but inspiration for the creative work of participants and faculty. Participants have the opportunity to engage in active interchange with acclaimed published authors. Some may decide to use this time to wander the Michigania grounds or elect to spend the afternoon reading or writing. Others investigate the nearby attractions in Petoskey, Boyne City, Harbor Springs, Bay Harbor and East Jordan. As the sun edges down toward the horizon, participants return again to the comfortable space of the dining hall to relax with one another over a satisfying meal and relive the day s highlights. Evening at Bear River and participants once again disperse, to read, to write, to listen to the creative work of their workshop leaders. One can find a quiet spot in front of one of the camp s fireplaces, chatting with other writers. On Saturday, enjoy a reading with our special guest and others. The conference s creative endeavors culminate on the final night in a special reading that showcases participant works. Morning workshops in poetry, fiction nonfiction afternoon writing, walks talks, nature community events evening readings indoor outdoor activities
