GCLS Literary Conference

GCLS Literary Conference

The Golden Crown Literary Society is proud to host the Fifth Annual GCLS Literary Conference at the Hilton Disney in Orlando, Florida, July 23-26, 2009. We will be hosting a variety of events for publishers, authors, supporters and fans with panels, seminars, and workshops focused on encouraging and advancing the art of publishing.

"The GCLS Literary Conference has become an important part of our member's lives, not only from an educational perspective, but a social one as well", says Kathy Smith, GCLS Executive Director. "This is an exciting weekend with a multitude of opportunities for authors and fans to come together, as well as the GCLS Literary Award presentations. The annual conference also presents an opportunity for our members to meet up with friends and associates who are located throughout the world."

The Mentoring Program is an opportunity for aspiring authors to receive valuable feedback that may help them improve and prepare a manuscript prior to its submission to publishers. A pair of volunteer mentors will read the manuscript prior to the conference and then meet face-to-face privately with the author to provide feedback.

The GCLS Literary Conference welcomes everyone. Membership in the GCLS, a literary and educational organization for the study, discussion, enjoyment, and enhancement of lesbian literature, is not required to attend. We hope you will make plans to join us in Orlando.
