A Message About the 2021 Conference

September 7, 2021

Dear Friends,

Given the pandemic, it has been a challenging year. We are proud of the virtual conference we held in September 2020, which had record attendance, hugely impactful performances and workshops, and glowing feedback from our audiences, some of which you can read here.

Because of recent leadership changes at UK and the impact of the pandemic on our ability to provide a robust in-person experience, the conference will be on hiatus in 2021.

While we deeply regret delivering this news, Covid-19 and its associated challenges are truly unprecedented. The University of Kentucky is committed to strengthening and sustaining the Women Writers Conference for many years to come, and we intend to be back in September 2022 with another extraordinary roster of women writers, a large and diverse attendance, as well as innovations stemming from the 2020 virtual conference.

We look forward to providing more information about exciting developments for the conference as we plan in earnest for the 2022 event. Thank you for your continued, steadfast support of this important literary event for the university and the community.

Sincerely,

The University of Kentucky
