The Lost Art of Personal Writing Macalester College, St. Paul, Minnesota June 21-23 The Art Colony, Grand Marais, Minnesota August 17-18 What role does writing play in your life What role would you like it to play These workshops are designed to spark creativity and motivate the writer in you. You will examine various genres, including journaling, memoir, poetry, and fiction, as well as the truly lost art of letter writing. In a small community of writers, you will be encouraged to explore and expand your unique voice, style, and purpose using your personal writing as the foundation. Writing is an important art form that is easily accessible. All you need is a journal, your favorite pen and your imagination. Peter Blau works in a variety of venues, including the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The small workshop size of approximately fifteen people allows him time to give participants personal support and encouragement. His goal is to provide a safe, confidential environment allowing participants to move through their own personal growth and writing journey. Peter focuses on the writing process as a pathway to creativity, imagination and self-discovery, and particularly enjoys watching people realize that they can write. Macalester College is located in the center of St. Paul s historic Summit Grand neighborhood, a lovely setting for imagining and writing. The Art Colony is in the quaint village of Grand Marais on Lake Superior s North shore. They each provide an ideal environment to enhance your writing weekend.
