Nightwriters' logo is "small seminars in creative settings for people who need to write it down." In 2008 this includes a May seminar at the Bishop's Ranch in Healdsburg, California.
Wherever Nightwriters retreats are held the formula remains the same: a serene, comfortable setting, with excellent teaching, family style living, and a schedule that is intensive but preserves the necessary illusion that one has all the time in the world to relax, reflect and write.
The success of the seminar rests upon the excellence of the teaching. Phyllis Theroux's reputation for bringing out the best in each writer is well known. A mix of morning seminars, afternoons to write, and enough daily diversion to refresh the mind and spirit is what makes each Nightwriters seminar unique.
Nightwriters now offers a writer's cottage with an editor attached. Designed for the individual who wants to get away for a week or more to focus upon a particular project, the cottage is located on the property of Nightwriters' founder, Phyllis Theroux's house in Ashland, Virginia.
