SPECIAL CONFERENCE EVENTS

BREAKOUT SESSION

MANUSCRIPT CRITIQUES - We will have manuscript critiques this year! Send no more than 8 pages between June 1 and July 15. There is a $25 critique fee on a separate check and in addition to the conference registration fee. Each editor or agent will  critique manuscripts. The sessions will last 15 minutes.  You may also "pitch to your pro" during your time if you wish. We will try and assign you to your preferred speaker, but please indicate a second choice. Do not forget to check the box on the registration form, as critiques will be assigned on a first-registered basis.

 ILLUSTRATORS

ARTISTS' SAMPLE BOOK - We will compile an Artists' Sample Book for each of our speakers to take back with them. There is no additional fee to have your artwork in this book. Submit six identical "sample sheets" of your work. SHEETS MUST BE 8½ x 11 inches, vertical format (portrait) on medium weight paper (no card stock). The design is up to you. Be sure your name and contact information is included on each of your samples. Samples must be received with all conference fees by July 15 (deadline). Check the box on the registration form.

PORTFOLIO EXHIBIT - All speakers will view art portfolios during the day in our portfolio room. Please limit the size of your portfolio to no larger than 14 x 18 inches. You can exhibit book dummies. NO EASELS, as artwork is laid flat on tables and space is limited. Do not bring handouts for the speakers, as our Artists' Sample Book will represent you in a more professional manner.  Speakers will leave their business cards at your table if they are interested, and you can set your business cards with your portfolio.
Check the box to reserve space in the portfolio room.

PORTFOLIO CRITIQUES - Several of our speakers have agreed to review portfolios during the day for an additional $25 fee (Seperate checks). Portfolio reviews are 15 minute sessions assigned on a first-registered basis. Check the box on the registration form.

WRITERS

BOOK SALES/AUTOGRAPH SESSION - National SCBWI members who are also NC/NE Texas Chapter subscribers may bring their books for sale. We have limited booth space, and it it on a  first-registered basis. Therefore, check the box on your registration form. You will be responsible for your own setup and breakdown as well as handling your own sales and making change.
