Opens September 1!

Objectives:
• To provide aspiring authors an opportunity to gain feedback from experienced writers.
• To provide experience in preparing a submission.
• To encourage aspiring authors to focus on producing a marketable project.
• To provide an opportunity for recognition for unpublished writers who have honed their storytelling skills to the publishable or near publishable level.
• To provide unpublished writers a goal and a deadline, thereby encouraging them to write, write, write.

Munchies and Great Entertainment for 8 Bucks

You can't ask for more than that on a Friday Night!

Back by popular demand, PPW hosts "American Icon," a writing contest (fiction and non-fiction)  in the spirit of American Idol™.  American Icon 4 will be held at the Colorado Springs Marriott, 5580 Tech Center Drive (map) on Friday, August 22, 2008, with registration from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.  The event is from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.  Prizes will be awarded in various categories.  Light desserts will be provided and beverages are available in the bar.

Our "Celebrity Judges" this year are Sandra Bond with the Bond Literary Agency, Doris Baker with Filter Press, and Edgar-award Winning Author Alane FergusonJodi Anderson will act as Master of Ceremonies

Reservations are being accepted now for both contestants and audience members.  We will only register the first 20 contestants.  After that, we will start a waiting list.

Karen Fox and Pam McCutcheon are excited to accept the appointment as co-directors for the 2009 Pikes Peak Writers Conference. We want this conference, our 17th, to have a strong focus on the craft of writing. To emphasize that, we'd like a catchy slogan for the conference to drive it home. And, we'd like to give all of you the chance to help us find one! If you've got a great idea (and what writer doesn't?), send them to us!       Submit a Slogan Now...
