Prepare to be inspired and transformed at this weeklong intensive in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. You’ll be led by nationally renowned writing instructors in small classes, as well as interact with fellow writers in poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and freelancing workshops. This workshop is for all levels of writing, from beginner to advanced. The session begins on Sunday evening and ends Friday, with daily workshops in the afternoon. Craft seminars are in the morning along with individual conferences with faculty. Other activities include faculty and student readings, in-class critiques, manuscript reviews, writing exercises, and plenty of one on one contact with the faculty. Workshops are devoted to critiquing your work and include reading of your work in class with careful and valuable feedback from everyone in your group.
Testimonials "I am very inspired by my experience at TMWW. I came to it unschooled and uninformed, and I leave with a clear sense of windows being opened in the art and craft of poetry along with the inspiration to unlock them and welcome fresh air into my writing practices." Brian McMonagle, Washington, DC
"Butt-kicking and life changing!" Jim Walke, Dublin Virginia
"This week has been like a religious experience. I know that sounds cliché, but it’s true. The workshop was perfectly planned to create a balance between “passive’ and active learning." Nancy Cushing-Daniels, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
James McKean, creative nonfiction; Lisa Dierbeck & Dan Mueller, fiction; David Levinson, advanced fiction; Michelle Brooks & Jon Pineda, poetry; Thorpe Moeckel, advanced poetry; Kim Wright Wiley, freelancing.
