About Your Instructors
Jessica Brody has nine book deals. Her adult novels, published by St. Martin's Press: The Fidelity Files and Love Under Cover; her young adult novels, published by Farrar, Straus, Giroux: The Karma Club and My Life Undecided. She holds a bachelor's degree from Smith College.

Heather Havrilesky is the author of the memoir Disaster Preparedness and contributes regularly to The New York Times Magazine. She was Salon.com's TV critic from 2003-2010 and co-created the popular cartoon Filler for Suck.com from 1996-2001. She holds a BA from Duke University.

Marilyn Friedman founder of Writing Pad, has taught writing in the Bay Area and in Los Angeles for the past six years. Her poetry has been published in Pearl, Squaw Valley Review, California Quarterly, Karamu, and The Great American Poetry Show, and her essays have been published on Match.com. Marilyn holds a BA from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and a Master’s Degree from Boston University.
