Whether you are a proficient writer or a rookie at your first workshop, you can find the tools to assist you in your work, and a team of instructors who are present in order to share their knowledge and experience with you. We are all writers on the same path, pilgrims on the journey of our individual stories.

This is not a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all approach to the craft of writing. Every instructor will share his or her understanding of what is effective for the various tasks involved in constructing a novel. You are ultimately the one who determines what will serve your vision, your characters, your book. The choice is yours.

David Corbett, author of The Art of Character and Mercy of the Night, and Grace Wynter aka GG Wynter, author of Free Falling, will be guest instructors; Michelle Johnson of Inklings Literary Agency will be visiting agent; Arianne “Tex” Thompson, Jason Sitzes, and Carol Dougherty will round out the staff. All will meet one-on-one with students.

“My friend says any workshop/retreat/conference that offers one nugget of insight is worth its weight in gold. If so, the Writers Retreat Workshop made me a wealthy woman.” – Michalea M.

The Wake Up and Write Writer’s Retreat Workshop is now combined with the original Writers Retreat Workshop, co-founded by Gary and Gail Provost. Both are now under the umbrella (and website) of Wake Up and Write WRW.
