Odyssey: The Summer Fantasy Writing Workshop
Odyssey Writing Workshop 2021 • June 7-July 16Saint Anselm College • Manchester, New Hampshire Since its inception in 1996, Odyssey has become one of the most highly regarded workshops for writers of fantasy, science fiction, and horror. Guest lecturers include top writers, editors, and agents. Fifty-nine percent of graduates are professionally published, and among graduates are New York Times bestsellers, Amazon bestsellers, and award winners. Held in New Hampshire each summer, Odyssey combines advanced lectures, in-depth feedback, and individual guidance. Class meets for over 4 1/2 hours, 5 days/week. Students devote afternoons/evenings to writing, critiquing each other's work, and completing class assignments. Guest lecturers visit one day/week. College credit is available. About Jeanne Cavelos Odyssey founder and director Jeanne Cavelos is a bestselling author, former senior editor at Bantam Doubleday Dell, and winner of the World Fantasy Award. She provides an advanced, comprehensive curriculum and the same unflinchingly honest, detailed feedback she provided as an editor. She works individually with students and charts their progress. What Graduates Say "In only six weeks, the Odyssey Writing Workshop taught me more about the craft and business of writing fantastical fiction than years of reading writing books, attending writing seminars and other workshops, and my many attempts at writing a novel that works." —Scott Gray "The first two stories I ever sold would not have been written without Odyssey." —Elaine Isaak Email jcavelos@odysseyworkshop.org, or click https://www.odysseyworkshop.org. Odyssey also offers online classes.
