Gotham Writers' Workshop - WritingClasses.com

Workshops feature craft-based method that uses lectures, writing exercises, and critiques by teacher & students.

In little more than a decade, the professional writers on the faculty of Gotham Writers' Workshop have taught creative writing to more than 40,000 writers. In the process we've mastered a method for teaching the craft of writing that is accessible, entertaining, and effective.

What makes Gotham workshops so effective?

We teach craft - We believe writing is a craft that can be taught. And we've developed the lectures, exercises and method of critiquing to do just that.

Professional writer/teachers - Every one of our teachers is a professional writer who understands the challenges you face and knows how to help.

Small class size - We strictly limit class size to ensure that you and your writing receive the attention they deserve.

Extensive class time - Our 10-week workshops give you the time and guidance to take your writing to the next level.

Basic and advanced workshops offered online and in NYC include: fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, children's books, romance, mystery, science fiction, humor, travel, article, screenplays, stage plays, TV writing, and more. Master classes are offered in writing fiction, novels, and screenplays.
